Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me.
We cannot think that our hearts are pure without the Holy Spirit of God. There must be a surrendering and commitment of self to God, a "spiritual and water baptism" that must take place in order to have a clean heart as well as a new and right spirit. Baptism is the renewing and cleansing of your spirit.
Rather you have been born again or not, pray Psalm 51:10 and be blessed!
